Position Summary The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for creating qualified sales opportunities, closing deals, attending trade shows, and entertaining clients. This role focuses on lead generation, account research, presenting, and relationship building. The ideal candidate is highly organized, energetic, and motivated by creating business opportunities in undeveloped markets. Primary Responsibilities Lead Generation Identify new prospects in untapped markets Research technology directors, IT managers, purchasing staff, and district leadership Build targeted prospect lists using CRM, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, GovSpend, conference attendee lists, and other research tools Maintain accurate contact records within CRM Conduct calls, email campaigns, and set meetings Utilize LinkedIn for social selling Execute strategic outreach cadences Generate qualified discovery meetings for Account Executives CRM Management Update all prospect activity Maintain pipeline accuracy Ensure all opportunities are properly staged Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Sales opportunities created Pipeline value generated Outbound calls completed Emails sent New contacts added Response rates Meeting attendance rate SQL conversion rate Revenue influenced Required Skills 5 years of BDR, SDR, inside sales, or lead generation experience Bachelor's degree preferred Ability to travel up to 40% of the time – expenses 100% paid Professional written communication Strong organizational skills Self-motivated Ability to overcome objections Detail oriented Compensation Base Salary: $85,000–$100,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. On-Target Earnings (OTE): Approximately $130,000+ for first year, uncapped commissions.
