Machinist – CNC 3 (Temp-to-Hire)Location: Houston, TX 77073Pay: $26-$34/ hour DOEShift: M-F with some weekends as needed for production demand Night 3:15pm-2amResponsible for set up, machining and in-process inspection of a variety of items requiring a high degree of skill and proficiency. Machinist – CNC 3 personnel can machine precision components on a manual or CNC machine. Position requires the ability to perform a variety of machining duties with no direct supervision. Level of machinist that could be considered for lead person.Duties:Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines at a very high level of proficiency.Experience in precision machining and premium/accessory threadingSet up and thread "all threads and grades of material" that the Facility is licensed for on a CNC lathe, with no assistance on setup and first article inspection.Obtain required over-lays and review first article with no assistance.Set up and operate "all" CNC machines at that Facility location.Select proper tools and gages for threading or process to be performed.Able to adjust machine processes and tooling to optimize cycle time and maintain process control as well as CNC editing on shop floor.Perform necessary mathematical calculations to produce angles.Understand products, read and interpret prints, dimension, and tolerances, and can produce parts from drawings.Help train Machinists at CNC 1 and CNC 2 levels.MORI SEIKI, & MAZAK controls.This position is in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.Requirements:High School Degree or GED required. Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.5 years' experience in metal removal on a variety of machines.Highly skilled craftsman with excellent mechanical aptitude, good mathematical background to include job related trigonometry calculations.Must pass background and drug screen.Steel toes required
