As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth financial operations of our esteemed establishment.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Perform daily financial transactions; full cycle accounts payable and purchasing duties
- Reconcile and verify invoices, statements, payments and other financial documents.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
- Enter and code invoices into accounting system
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive working relationships
- Prepare and process electronic transfers, ACH payments and checks
- Assist with month end closing by preparing accruals and reports
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting.
- Assist in conducting regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Support finance team with daily task and projects as needed
- Perform ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Basic knowledge of Accounting is required
- Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar role.
- 1-3 years of accounts payable experience required
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry accounting practices is a plus.
Physical requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Possible prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
