Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements. Acute care departments include Medical, Surgical, Emergency, ICU, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Efficiently manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals. Attend educational sessions on product and practice changes to promote cost-effective care.
• Apply functional and technical knowledge to deliver high-quality care. Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs. Embrace evidence-based practices to enhance workplace skills.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues. Embody core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage. Communicate effectively to manage expectations and provide a positive experience.
• Prioritize safety for patients, guests, and staff by adhering to safety protocols, reporting near misses, and following HIPAA and national safety standards.
• Pursue leadership and professional growth opportunities, including certifications, advanced degrees, and participation in shared governance and clinical advancement programs.

Additional Skills and Abilities:

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications to be obtained and maintained as required.

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
