Job Summary: RIS Rx is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of four to eight engineers building the platforms that identify and mitigate gross-to-net (GTN) revenue leakage for pharmaceutical manufacturers. This is a people-leadership role focused on the growth, delivery, and health of your team while staying close enough to the technology to guide sound decisions. Responsibilities Lead, coach, and grow a team of four to eight engineers with regular 1:1s, feedback, career development, and performance management. Own your team’s delivery: planning, prioritization, and execution against roadmap commitments, in partnership with product. Be accountable for the quality, reliability, and on-call health of the systems your team owns. Hire, onboard, and build a strong, inclusive team, setting a high bar for craft and collaboration. Partner with product, operations, and other engineering teams to align priorities and remove blockers. Stay technically engaged by joining design and code reviews enough to guide architecture and trade-offs, without being the primary individual contributor. Foster sound handling of regulated data (PHI, partner contracts) and a culture of security and compliance. Use the leveling framework to set clear expectations and support engineers’ growth toward the next level. Skills 2+ years managing software engineers, built on a strong foundation as a senior engineer. A track record of shipping software and developing the people on your team. Enough technical depth in our stack (Go, TypeScript, AWS, PostgreSQL) to engage credibly in technical decisions. Strong communication, coaching, and prioritization skills. Experience in healthcare, pharma, or another regulated, data-sensitive domain preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
