Sr Scientist

Senior Scientist position in HIV Clinical Virology at Gilead Sciences focused on characterizing antiviral medications and therapeutic interventions through laboratory assays, translational models, and clinical study support within a cross-functional R&D team.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to characterize in vitro resistance profiles of antiviral drugs
• Monitor and characterize drug resistance emergence in patient samples and support mechanism of action studies
• Manage experimental data, prepare summary reports, and organize vendor contracts for clinical samples
• Support clinical studies through virology assay development, implementation, data analysis, and regulatory document preparation
• Present research findings at conferences, author scientific publications, and communicate results in team meetings

Requirements

• PhD or PharmD with 0+ years experience, or MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years
• PhD or equivalent degree in virology or related scientific discipline preferred
• 1-5 years post-doctoral experience in industrial or academic settings preferred
• Expertise in virology, molecular biology, sequencing, and cell culture techniques
• Experience with clinical samples and clinical trial knowledge preferred
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently in fast-paced cross-functional environments

Compensation: $169,320-$219,120 base
