As an Operator, your primary responsibility is to support the mission and core values of HGC. This involves a continuous learning process, mastering all the presses in each press bank, meeting the needs of our customers as per HGC guidelines, and ensuring the production of parts with 100% quality and timely delivery to all customers.

Essential functions include setting up different presses per procedure with minimum downtime, learning all the required functions of presses in the press bank, operating the press at maximum speed that allows for safety and consistent, accurate cut part outcome, running material through the press, meeting quality count and rate requirements, constantly monitoring quality results, paying attention to detail and reporting any defects, catching and/or moving gaskets from the press neatly to avoid distortion, finishing parts and removing scrap from gaskets, consistently meeting efficiency goals per factory order, separating box quantities according to customer guidelines, filling out the paperwork correctly for each run, measuring and comparing parts for accuracy, matching all parts with the order blueprint and ensuring that parts have all the material branding requirements, preparing parts for shipping, packing parts into cartons, and ensuring all parts have been packed following the required instructions. Other duties as assigned.

Required skills and abilities include basic math skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent time management skills and ability to efficiently manage priorities and tasks based on importance, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, adaptability skills to effectively manage demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events, ability to work self-sufficiently to ensure accuracy and quality of tasks, ability to navigate and resolve internal or external situations effectively and resourcefully, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers, and HGC Industries stakeholders, ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitor their work to ensure quality, ability to effectively manage both emotional and social intelligence, a strong willingness to learn new processes and procedures will help the individual be successful at HGC, and ability to follow HGC safety and security guidelines when operating and using company equipment and materials.

Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED preferred, previous manufacturing experience a plus, and ability to read and write effectively in English to understand work instructions and complete required documentation.

Physical demands include standing for extended periods 5-10 hours per day, walking for long periods 1-5 hours per day, ability to sit (based on position and department) 1-5 hours per day, twisting, bending, reaching, and engaging in rapid reflex movements for up to 10 hours a day, circumduction, pushing, pulling, reaching, and engaging in rapid flex movements with both arms up to 10 hours a day, occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, occasionally lift and carry objects (30 lbs. maximum), and occasionally climb/use a ladder.

Environmental conditions include manufacturing plant and office employees can/will be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and other airborne particles.

Travel requirements are none.

Compensation is $17.75/hour based on experience.

Classification is full-time, non-exempt.

Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm.

Location is on-site in Indianapolis (Martindale-Brightwood area).
