Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week; weekends may be required based on unit staffing needs; 3:1 patient ratio

Highlights:

• Float Pool position with assignment flexibility across affiliated hospital locations (approximately 5-6 minute walk between sites)
• Step-down/PCU patient population with all diagnoses; comprehensive interdisciplinary support available
• Epic EMR experience required; 36 hours of orientation provided
• First-time travelers welcome; minimum 1 year of PCU experience required (profiles reviewed by manager)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Up to two pre-approved time-off requests permitted

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Epic charting system experience mandatory
• Skills required include cardiac telemetry, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, arterial line management, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, vasoactive and cardiac drip management, wound care, tracheostomy care, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references)
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away from the facility; current employees ineligible
