Make a meaningful impact in students’ daily lives by providing essential support as a paraprofessional in an educational setting near Oakland, CA. This contract role offers a chance to engage directly with students, assisting teachers and supporting classroom activities to encourage growth and learning for every child.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or supportive environment is highly valued
- Patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students and staff
- Ability to follow teacher and district protocols while proactively assisting students’ academic and behavioral needs
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or relevant paraprofessional certifications a plus
- Reliable, punctual, and organized approach to daily responsibilities
- Comfort supporting students with diverse backgrounds and learning profiles, including those with special needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement individualized and group learning activities
- Offer guidance, encouragement, and redirection to help students stay on task and achieve their goals
- Assist with instructional materials, classroom organization, and preparation of learning resources
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to reinforce lessons or support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Promote a safe, positive classroom environment and foster respectful student interactions
- Communicate observations and student progress to teachers and support staff as needed
