Job Summary: Home Health Hospice Registered Nurse (HH HOSPICE) South Portland, ME
The Registered Nurse will provide hospice care to patients in their homes. The role includes delivering skilled nursing support for a range of common diagnoses, coordinating ongoing care needs, and participating in weekend and on-call coverage. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days; 40.0 hours per week; work includes Friday through Monday with a weekend rotation and on-call coverage, with typical business hours of 8 AM to 5 PM.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for the State of Maine
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Drivers license
  • Nursing skill set to provide care for common diagnoses including oncology diagnoses, dementia/Alzheimers, end stage CHF/COPD, and end stage neurological conditions (ALS, MS, Parkinsons)
• Preferred Qualifications: Hospice experience
• Additional Information:
  • Patients are cared for in their homes (not in a hospice house), requiring travel from patient home to patient home.
  • Call coverage includes overnight responsibilities from 5 PM to 8 AM, typically once or twice per month depending on staffing.
  • Weekend rotation is typically once or twice a month, depending on staffing.
  • Holiday expectations may apply if the assignment aligns with major holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
  • Float may be required if the South Portland territory census is low, with support across other agency locations as needed.
  • Orientation is expected to take 12 weeks.
