ACCOUNTING CLERK

Position: Accounting Clerk Job Type: (Remote) Job Summary The General Ledger Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, processing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities. This position supports the accounting department by ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded and documented. Key Responsibilities Record and maintain financial transactions in the general ledger. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments. Reconcile general ledger accounts with supporting documentation and subsidiary records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting records. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures. Review account balances for accuracy and completeness. Maintain organized accounting schedules and supporting documentation. Assist with bank and other account reconciliations. Prepare routine accounting reports and financial schedules. Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting functions as needed. Ensure transactions are coded to the appropriate accounts, departments, and cost centers. Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Maintain accurate and confidential financial records. Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing supporting documentation. Follow company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Perform other accounting duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred. 1–2 years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred. Basic knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles. Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and analytical skills. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
