Description


Brock & Scott, PLLC, a regional law firm representing financial institutions and creditors' rights clients, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized paralegal to support its foreclosure practice. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a high-volume caseload, drafting legal documents, and collaborating closely with courts, lenders, and third-party vendors to ensure matters progress efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities:
  • Mail and original document processing
  • E-filing
  • Document drafting, and monitoring service of process completion
  • Mediation support to designated attorney
  • Pre-trial preparation in connection with Judgment
  • Monitoring and updating client systems of record to ensure compliance
  • Communicating directly with opposing clients, counsel, courts, and third-party vendors
  • Coordinating foreclosure sale scheduling, postponements and bid instructions
  • Overseeing the post-sale process
Position Requirements

Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Efficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Capacity to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Capacity to maintain a high-volume caseload
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
  • This position is hybrid in Portland, Maine
Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred
  • Paralegal Certification preferred; or, 2+ years of working experience as a paralegal

Compensation Details: $25.00-$30.00/hr. -We are prepared to negotiate a competitive compensation package and are open to discussing salary expectations in alignment with industry standard, salary expectations and current compensation

The compensation amount is not guaranteed. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate. This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position, however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications.

Benefits Details

Brock & Scott, PLLC offers an attractive benefit package to full-time employees on the 1st of the following month of hire. The insurance portion includes medical, dental, voluntary life, voluntary vision, and critical illness, all at competitive rates. At the 90-day introductory period, the Firm also provides a basic life insurance policy in the amount of one time your annual salary (with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $200,000.00) at no cost.

Full-time employees receive paid holidays, including six (6) firm-recognized holidays and one (1) Day of Observance, as well as a PTO package of 14 days per year. PTO accrues monthly and is credited on the 15th of each month, in accordance with firm policy. PTO benefits increase after 2 years of employment and again after 5 years of employment. After six months of service, employees over the age of 21 become eligible to participate in the firm's 401(k) plan at the beginning of the next quarter.
