Vice President of Government Affairs

Serving as a liaison to state government entities, the full-time Vice President of Government Affairs will enhance legislative and regulatory environments for the state health plan and Centene Corporation while developing strategic relationships with state policymakers in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Assist in developing state legislative public policy related to insurance and Managed Care Organization regulations Identify and analyze the impact of state legislative and regulatory issues on the health plan and advise management accordingly Represent the state health plan and Centene Corporation to outside trade groups and state legislators Required qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Government Affairs, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required; Master's Degree or Law degree preferred 5+ years of related experience with extensive knowledge of state legislative and regulatory processes Experience with health care trade associations and federal and state Medicare and Medicaid laws and regulations Previous management experience including hiring, training, and performance management of staff
