Senior Accountant

Job Description LHH is currently hiring a Senior Accountant for a full-time position within the healthcare sector in Nashville, TN . Position Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a strong background in accounting principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on heavy month-end close processes, bank reconciliations, and preferably experience in either inventory accounting or cost accounting within the healthcare sector. A degree in Accounting is required to be considered for this role. Key Responsibilities: Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of cash transactions. Assist in inventory accounting processes, including valuation and reconciliations. Support cost accounting functions, analyzing costs and variances to ensure accurate financial reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and insights. Participate in audit preparations and support external auditors as needed. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations. Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance department. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is a plus. Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting roles. Experience with heavy month-end close processes and financial reporting. Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial accounting standards. Prior experience with bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, or cost accounting in healthcare is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
