Project Manager - Architectural Woodwork & Construction

Location: Hollywood, FL

Work Arrangement: Fully on-site

Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 annually

Ascendo Resources is representing an established specialty construction and manufacturing company seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple custom architectural woodwork and interior construction projects.

This position will manage projects from initial handoff through fabrication, delivery, installation, and final closeout. The Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining project budgets, schedules, quality standards, documentation, and client communication while coordinating closely with engineering, purchasing, production, accounting, field installation, subcontractors, and external construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple small to mid-sized architectural woodwork and specialty construction projects from contract award through completion.
• Establish projects within the company's operational platform, including work orders, labor projections, material budgets, milestones, and production schedules.
• Develop detailed project plans and assign responsibilities, deadlines, and priorities across internal project teams.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, finish schedules, and technical documentation to identify project requirements and potential risks.
• Evaluate design concepts for constructability, functionality, cost, manufacturing feasibility, and installation requirements.
• Prepare labor, material, procurement, and production estimates to support accurate project budgeting.
• Coordinate with engineering and purchasing teams regarding material selections, specialty components, vendor pricing, and outside fabrication opportunities.
• Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor proposals, assist with negotiations, and coordinate purchasing requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact for clients, general contractors, architects, designers, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
• Communicate project progress, upcoming milestones, priorities, schedule changes, and areas of concern.
• Prepare and manage requests for information, submittals, transmittals, change-order documentation, schedules of values, samples, and other required project records.
• Maintain organized electronic project files in accordance with internal documentation and record-retention procedures.
• Coordinate insurance, permitting, licensing, tax, and contractual requirements with the appropriate internal departments.
• Process monthly billing documentation and follow up on outstanding approvals or payments.
• Coordinate the design, fabrication, approval, packaging, and delivery of mockups and material samples.
• Monitor project performance against scope, budget, labor utilization, material costs, and completion dates.
• Maintain accurate cost-to-complete forecasts and communicate anticipated labor, material, or general-condition overruns.
• Prepare weekly project reports outlining financial performance, schedule status, open issues, risks, and recommended action plans.
• Partner with accounting and finance teams on monthly project forecasting, billing, and cost reporting.
• Conduct job-site visits to obtain field measurements, assess readiness, verify conditions, and monitor installation progress.
• Identify site-related constraints, sequencing concerns, access issues, and potential delays before they affect production or installation.
• Coordinate schedules and resolve conflicts with general contractors, owners, architects, installers, and mechanical, electrical, structural, and other specialty trades.
• Review applicable building codes, site requirements, and technical documentation to determine their effect on project design and installation.
• Address construction issues, customer concerns, field conditions, and production challenges in a timely and professional manner.
• Lead project closeout and post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned, financial outcomes, process improvements, and operational opportunities.
• Develop positive relationships with contractors, developers, architects, and design professionals while sharing potential business opportunities with sales and estimating teams.
• Perform additional project-management responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• At least five years of project-management experience within architectural woodwork, millwork, custom manufacturing, specialty interiors, commercial construction, or a closely related environment.
• Strong understanding of woodworking production, construction sequencing, fabrication methods, field installation, and material procurement.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, vendors, change orders, and client expectations.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documents.
• Experience coordinating projects involving general contractors, architects, designers, owners, subcontractors, and manufacturing teams.
• Knowledge of recognized architectural woodworking quality standards and sustainable-building or certified-material requirements is highly preferred.
• College degree, technical certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
• Ability to travel to job sites for field measurements, project reviews, and installation oversight.

Technology Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and calendar applications.
• Experience using manufacturing, inventory, scheduling, project-management, or enterprise-resource-planning software.
• Ability to create and interpret project reports, cost analyses, forecasts, and performance summaries.
