The Opportunity

We are seeking a distinguished, board-certified physician in maternal fetal medicine to take on the role of Division Chief, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and hold the Barbara Peterson Ruhlman Chair in this specialty. This is a remarkable chance to lead a prominent academic division within one of the top nonprofit health systems in the country, influencing the future of high-risk obstetrical care, education, research, and program development throughout Northeast Ohio.

The Division Chief will collaborate closely with the leadership of our Medical Group, the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, faculty members, trainees, and institutional partners to enhance clinical excellence, bolster academic programs, support innovative research initiatives, and further establish our organization as a regional and national authority in maternal fetal medicine.

The Position

• Provide strategic, clinical, academic, research, and administrative guidance for the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine.

• Drive the Division's growth, quality, accessibility, program development, faculty recruitment, and financial performance in alignment with organizational priorities.

• Oversee both inpatient and outpatient maternal fetal medicine services, ensuring clinical quality, patient safety, coverage models, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Collaborate with the OBGYN residency program director and the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program Director to promote exceptional education and training.

• Encourage a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing environment that nurtures faculty development, mentorship, research activities, and multidisciplinary care.

The Ideal Candidate

• MD or DO degree with eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in Ohio.

• Board certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

• A minimum of 10 years of medical practice experience, with proven leadership in an academic or complex healthcare setting.

• A strong record of excellence in clinical care, education, research, and/or administration, with the capability to lead within a matrixed academic medical center.

• Proven ability to recruit, retain, mentor, and inspire a diverse group of faculty, clinicians, physician-scientists, trainees, and staff.

• A commitment to quality, safety, high reliability, inclusion, access, patient-centered care, and service to women, infants, and families.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this physician leadership role is between $600,000 and $730,000, reflecting a good faith estimate at the time of posting. This range is subject to change and may be updated in the future. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to location, specialty, academic rank, board certification, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity. Unless specified otherwise, this figure does not encompass incentive pay or the value of our comprehensive benefits package.
