Payroll Specialist

A growing organization in Bellevue, WA is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist for a direct hire opportunity. This role is a strong fit for a payroll professional who enjoys accurate data management, deadline-driven processing, employee support, and cross-functional collaboration with HR and accounting teams.

The Payroll Specialist will play an important role in ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies and applicable payroll regulations. Key Responsibilities

- Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including regular pay, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
- Review and verify timesheets, attendance records, timekeeping data, and employee pay information for accuracy.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, status changes, tax information, and direct deposit updates.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee questions, and payment issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare payroll reports and support payroll audits, reconciliations, compliance reporting, and internal review processes.
- Partner with HR, accounting, managers, and employees to support accurate payroll administration and process improvements.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $62,790 to $75,322 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Process payroll and maintain accurate payroll data for employee compensation activities.
- Review timekeeping records, calculate wages and deductions, and support payroll adjustments.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll questions.
- Support payroll reporting, audits, reconciliations, and compliance-related activities.

- 2+ years of experience processing payroll or supporting payroll administration.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, wage calculations, deductions, PTO balances, and timekeeping practices.
- Experience using payroll software, HRIS systems, or time and attendance platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional employee service approach.
- Ability to handle confidential payroll and employee information with discretion.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and compliance practices preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paylocity, Workday, UKG, Paycom, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting multi-state payroll processing.
- Familiarity with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits.
- Payroll certification such as FPC or CPP is a plus.
