Work Environment

The Nurse Practitioner will work directly in a school facility, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment with educators and school staff. Your clinical practices will directly impact student health, ensuring a safe and conducive learning atmosphere. In addition to the dynamic interaction with students, you will collaborate with a team of medical professionals, including pediatricians, counselors, and school nurses, to manage student health programs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments through detailed physical examinations and diagnostic tests to evaluate student health.
• Diagnose both acute and chronic health conditions in students and collaborate on developing individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe necessary medications and therapeutic interventions, ensuring adherence to best practices in pediatric care.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed based on outcome evaluations and ongoing assessments.
• Educate students and their families about treatment plans, medication usage, and health promotion strategies tailored to school health contexts.
• Collaborate with educators and other healthcare professionals in the school setting to promote health education and wellness initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and Florida state regulations by maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with the school-aged population, addressing a variety of health issues ranging from common childhood illnesses to chronic conditions requiring ongoing management. Qualifications

• An active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license issued by the state of Florida.
• A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a concentration in Nurse Practitioner studies.
• Board certification as either a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Possession of a DEA license and NPI number for prescribing medications.
• A valid Florida Board of Pharmacy license.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with at least two years of experience in outpatient, school-based, or community health settings are highly valued. Experience in primary care or pediatric contexts will be considered a strong asset as it directly aligns with the scope of our services.

Compensation and Benefits
