Position Overview This position is designed for 2nd year Radiography students who are currently enrolled in an accredited radiologic technology program and have met required competencies. New graduates or ARRT‑registered candidates are not eligible. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. Qualifications Actively enrolled in an accredited Radiography program with at least six months completed. Documentation of passing basic competency check‑off exams. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Excellent human‑relation skills to interact with patients, physicians, and staff, including verbal and written communication, problem solving, and assertiveness. Customer‑service orientation. Leadership and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative within established procedures. Positive attitude. Ability to operate basic computer programs for documentation and record keeping. Responsibilities Work on a rotational basis in several areas of the Radiology Department performing routine radiology examinations as well as more advanced diagnostic procedures. Receive or escort patients into the examination area, review pertinent patient information, and instruct patients concerning the examination to be performed. Position patients to obtain and effect the results specified for diagnoses; set up and adjust supportive and immobilization devices as necessary; apply and adjust radiation protective shielding. Operate various diagnostic radiographic equipment to provide optimal diagnostic radiology examinations in accordance with physician orders. Consult the radiologist to clarify orders or discuss unusual situations. Perform work in the Radiology Department or other areas as necessary to accommodate patient or physician needs. Operate all equipment properly and with care, immediately reporting any malfunctions, necessary adjustments, or repairs. Assist physicians in administering prescribed radiolucent or radiopaque media for examinations. Perform first aid as required and assist in cases of adverse reaction to contrast media or other emergencies. Observe and practice sterile technique and prevent cross‑contamination of contagious diseases. Maintain cleanliness of procedure rooms and equipment. Maintain accurate documentation of patient and file information. Maintain appropriate supply levels in the areas of responsibility. Shift & Scheduling Shift: Variable. Type: Part‑time.
