Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Summary The Accounts Payable Specialist performs a variety of accounting support functions in the Finance Department. This position processes accounts payable transactions, responds to vendor inquiries, assists with time & billing functions, and maintains account records. Some positions may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs. This role reports to the Accounting Manager. Contributions and Responsibilities Review and code invoices and expense reports while adhering to firm policies Prepare weekly check runs and process manual checks as required Prepare ACH payment extractions for vendor payments and employee expense reports Reconcile vendor monthly statements and resolve outstanding issues with vendors Monitor lease due dates and reconcile rental operating expenses and payments Set‑up and maintain vendor accounts; prepare 1099 forms at year‑end Research and code transactions in the suspense accounts Maintain and resolve support queue inquiry tickets related to Accounts Payable Administer credit card transactions, reconcile statements, gather receipts, code, and data entry Assist the Time & Billing team with reviewing time and invoices Monitor cell phone and MiFi device usage Other duties and projects as assigned Background and Skills Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting 1-3 years of related accounts receivable or payable experience, or an appropriate balance of education and work experience Prior experience in a professional services firm is a plus Strong computer skills, including solid proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software systems Sound understanding of financial concepts and ability to perform calculations for a variety of transactions Superior organizational and follow‑through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast‑paced and varied workload; manage a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Benefits Increased number of paid holidays per year Competitive salaries with continuous review of market conditions; $38,000 to $48,000 depending on experience, with higher potential based on experience Flexible working hours and arrangements; remote and hybrid opportunities Inclusive workplace with strong professional growth and development opportunities 401(k) package with firm profit‑sharing Discretionary annual bonuses for eligible positions and a CPA bonus plan Strong emphasis on quality work‑life integration Dress‑for‑your‑day policy Resources of a national firm, employee resource groups, and affinity groups Equal Opportunity Employer Novogradac is an equal opportunity employer.
