Business Office Manager

Pikes Peak Post Acute

General Purpose Supports facility operations by maintaining business office systems and supervising staff. Essential Duties Obtain managed care and Medi‑Cal or Medicaid authorizations, including bedholds. Assist with managing the resident trust fund, including printing and distributing monthly statements. Supervise business office staff, including taking appropriate disciplinary measures. Maintain census records and report status changes. Attend stand‑up meetings at the request of the Administrator. Assist with Medi‑Cal or Medicaid applications. Prepare TARS as needed. Track Medi‑Cal and Medicaid redeterminations. Participate in billing and payment processes, including preparing bank deposits. Undertake collection activity for bad debts. Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results. Supervisory Requirements Assist with the overall supervision and management of the business office staff. Qualification Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferable one‑year experience in a long term care facility. Skills: Strong understanding of skilled nursing billing and payment and proficiency in Microsoft products. Language skills: ability to read technical procedures and policy and procedure manuals, present information, and respond to questions from managers and employees. Mathematical skills: application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning ability: solving practical problems and interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands Prolonged use of computer, standing or walking frequently, sitting occasionally, reaching, pushing/pulling frequently, talking/reading frequently, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling occasionally. Vision and hearing requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Work Environment The work environment is typically low to moderate noise level.
