Senior Staff Accountant

Senior Staff Accountant4 Corner Resources is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support a boutique law firm specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare-related litigation. This role combines accounting, reporting, and financial analysis while working closely with leadership to support day-to-day operations and business decision-making.The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting and is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a high volume of transactions. This person should be able to keep track of outstanding items, meet deadlines, take ownership of routine accounting responsibilities, and work with minimal supervision while learning new systems and processes. Legal industry experience is not required, and this role offers the opportunity to develop specialized accounting knowledge and take on additional responsibilities over time.Staff Accountant ResponsibilitiesAssist with month-end close, including closed case write-offsReceive, verify, and enter vendor invoices into accounting and case management systemsPrepare weekly check runs and process credit card transactionsSupport payroll and PTO tracking through ADP Workforce NowPerform account reconciliations and track outstanding accounting items through resolutionSupport settlement disbursements, trust-related accounting, and other case-related financial processesPrepare closing statements for case settlementsPrepare cost reports for mediations and lien negotiationsMaintain financial documentation and client files related to case settlementsProcess annual 1099s and assist with tax package preparationAnalyze financial information in QuickBooks Online and pull reports from FilevineReview financial and case-related data to identify discrepancies, trends, and useful insightsSupport reporting and provide information used for operational decision-makingIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflowsStaff Accountant QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredStrong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and bookkeeping processesExperience with reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable, or general accounting functionsExperience with QuickBooks Online preferredStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, follow up on outstanding items, and maintain accurate recordsComfortable learning new accounting, workflow, and case management systemsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and OfficeStrong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a small accounting teamPreferred QualificationsExperience with legal or trust accountingFamiliarity with Filevine, Clio, or another case management/workflow systemExperience pulling reports from financial, ERP, case management, or similar systems and analyzing the underlying dataExperience with settlement or closing statements, title/real estate closings, cost accounting, or other reconciliation-heavy accounting workExperience with ADP Workforce NowInterest in AI, automation, reporting, or process improvementAdditional DetailsLocation: Maitland, FLSchedule: Fully onsite Monday–Friday, with potential for 1 remote day per week after 90 daysCompensation: $75,000 annually plus bonus eligibility twice per yearEmployment Type: Direct hireBenefits: Health, dental, and vision contributions; 401(k) contribution; life insurance; long-term disability; paid holidays; and PTO
