What You'll Do

As a Residential Manager , you will:

Leadership & Staff Development

• Provide direct supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for Lead Staff and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
• Conduct staff supervision meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
• Address performance concerns and develop corrective action and improvement plans when necessary.
• Participate in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and staff training.
• Manage staffing schedules and ensure appropriate coverage for vacancies, absences, and emergencies.

Residential Program Oversight

• Ensure the health, safety, welfare, and rights of individuals receiving services.
• Maintain compliance with licensing requirements, agency policies, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee household operations, including budgeting, purchasing, transportation, maintenance, and scheduling.
• Maintain safe, clean, and well-functioning residential environments.
• Support individuals in achieving goals identified in Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and behavioral support plans.

Individual Support & Advocacy

• Participate in ISP meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, medical appointments, and planning sessions.
• Ensure staff implement support plans, behavioral supports, and clinical recommendations appropriately.
• Monitor service quality and promptly address concerns.
• Advocate for individual choice, independence, dignity, and community inclusion.

Health, Safety & Incident Management

• Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and crisis situations.
• Ensure proper reporting, documentation, and follow-up of incidents.
• Communicate medical concerns to agency leadership and nursing personnel as needed.
• Implement risk management practices that promote safety and well-being.

Administrative & Financial Management

• Manage household, site, and consumer funds in accordance with agency standards.
• Review and approve required documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure timely completion of:
  • Daily logs
  • Medication administration records
  • Progress notes
  • Incident reports
  • Vehicle logs
  • Consumer fund documentation
  • Inventory records
  • Regulatory and assessment documentation
• Submit reports and documentation within established timelines.

Facility & Vehicle Oversight

• Monitor residential properties for safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Coordinate corrective actions related to facility or vehicle concerns.

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Behavioral Health, Mental Health, or Substance Use Recovery populations
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Basic computer proficiency, including email, scheduling, electronic documentation, and timekeeping systems
• Knowledge of applicable regulations, agency policies, and person-centered practices
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and employment screenings

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
• Previous supervisory or management experience in residential or community-based services

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong leadership, coaching, and staff development skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral supports, and trauma-informed care
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong documentation and record-management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email systems, and electronic health record platforms

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Flexible schedule based on program needs
• Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required
• Participation in an on-call rotation required
• Emergency coverage responsibilities as needed

Physical RequirementsPhysical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs as needed
• Ability to operate computers, office equipment, and communication devices
• Ability to push, pull, and move equipment or supplies
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically
• Ability to respond quickly during emergencies

Lifting Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to lift or carry up to 20 pounds frequently
• Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force regularly to move objects
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Work Environment

Work is performed in both office and community-based residential settings and includes frequent travel to residential sites.
