Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacist

Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
Duration: 26 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift: Night Shift | 10-Hour Shifts (8:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off (Block Scheduling Required)
Compensation

• Pay Range: $2,200 - $2,850 Weekly (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

A healthcare facility in Texas is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to join its pharmacy team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care in an acute care hospital setting, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense medications in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Evaluate medication orders for accuracy, safety, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions.
• Provide clinical pharmacy support and medication-related recommendations to physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Participate in therapeutic drug monitoring and pharmacokinetic dosing consultations.
• Support medication management for pediatric and acute care patient populations.
• Monitor patient medication therapies and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation within hospital pharmacy information systems and electronic medical records.
• Assist with medication safety initiatives, quality improvement projects, and formulary management activities.
• Provide education and consultation regarding medication use to healthcare staff when appropriate.
• Work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining a high standard of pharmaceutical care.

Required Qualifications
Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy program.

Licensure

• Active Texas Pharmacist License - Required

Experience & Skills

• Strong inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Experience in pediatric and/or acute care pharmacy settings preferred.
• Ability to independently manage pharmacy operations during overnight coverage.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy systems and electronic medical records.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Duration: 26 Weeks
• Shift: Nights (8:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
• Schedule: 7-On / 7-Off Block Schedule
• Every Other Weekend Required
• No On-Call Requirement
• No Floating Required
• Initial Assignment: Night Shift Coverage
• First-Time Travelers Accepted
• Extension Opportunity Available Based on Facility Needs and Performance
