The position requires a high degree of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail. The Staff Accountant is responsible for accounting functions, including account reconciliations, coordinating monthly journal entries, audit preparation, budget preparation, reporting, and payroll. This position coordinates accounting work with Cornerstone's accounting consultants, and contacts vendors as needed.Experience/QualificationsBachelor degree in accountingSome nonprofit experience is preferredExcellent communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft applicationsAbility to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines are a must.Knowledge of the Sage Intacct accounting system, the Ramp system, and the ADP payroll system preferredEssential Functions:Assists in the preparation of annual 1099's and reviews for accuracy.Assists in the preparation of monthly reoccurring, payroll, benefits, prepaid journal entries and reviews for accuracyEnters monthly AR data into Sage IntacctAssists in the preparation of the deferred and temporarily restricted monthly journal entries, and reviews for accuracyAssists in the preparation of the monthly bank reconciliation journal entries, and reviews for accuracyAssist in the preparation of year-end journal entriesReviews and codes accounts payable invoices and cash receiptsMonitors grants for progress and assists with appropriate budget adjustments when necessaryCollects, prepares when required, and submits all requested documentation for funder auditsAssists in annual agency auditAssists in agency budget forecastingAssists in budget preparations for government and contributedProvides expense/revenue reporting for government and contributedReviews all payroll earnings reports prior to submission to ADPReviews the payroll register reports from ADP prior to payroll disbursementConducts benefit account analysis/reconciliation monthlyOther duties as assignedReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions ??????Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 30 poundsAbility to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
