Work Environment

Your future workplace will be a state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in the vibrant city of Alexandria, Virginia. This onsite setting features modern equipment and therapy spaces designed to promote healing and recovery. You will have the opportunity to turn theoretical knowledge into practical application daily, making meaningful connections with your patients in a supportive team environment. The facility operates primarily during regular business hours with the need for rotating hospital shifts on weekends.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients to identify impairments and functional limitations, developing individualized treatment plans based on physician's orders.
• Designing and implementing therapy programs tailored to each patient's needs, ensuring that the therapeutic interventions are age-appropriate and scientifically valid.
• Documenting all patient care activities, including evaluations, therapy sessions, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, utilizing professional jargon and adhering to necessary documentation standards.
• Maintaining accurate and timely medical records that reflect skilled therapeutic interventions and support billing requirements.
• Supervising Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and support staff during patient care and guiding them to maximize patient recovery.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational and speech therapists, to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Analyzing the efficacy of treatment approaches and sharing insights with team members to refine practices and enhance patient outcomes.
• Providing constructive feedback to enhance the operational aspects of the department and contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will encompass working with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological disorders, sports injuries, and other physical impairments. You will be instrumental in developing personalized rehabilitation strategies that promote mobility, restore function, and maximize quality of life.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant software.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience in a physical therapy setting is required, candidates with specialized training or certifications in areas such as orthopedic or neurological rehabilitation will be given preference. Experience working in a collaborative team, particularly within a rehabilitation facility, will also be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
