Community Outreach Manager

Job Summary The Community Outreach Manager is responsible for ensuring the school actively engages stakeholders by developing partnerships with students, families, community members, businesses, and civic leaders. The role involves creating outreach strategies, coordinating community events, and acting as a liaison between the school and its community. Essential Functions Strategy Development Develop an outreach strategy for the school that identifies local community needs and partnership opportunities. Outreach and Communications Create key messages and communications to share the school’s mission and vision with communities. Establish accessible mechanisms for community members to voice questions, concerns, and ideas. Organize and coordinate community events that support the outreach strategy. Ongoing Activities Represent the school site, with support from the Principal, to foster an effective school community. The role includes: Collaborating with parents to support their child’s academic, behavioral, and social development. Securing support from community groups and leaders. Building positive relationships with external partnerships. Working with the Principal and Home Office to achieve site and organizational goals. Supporting the operation of stakeholder engagement groups such as the School Site Council and English Language Advisory Council. Serve as a liaison between the school and families regarding recruitment and enrollment. Additional Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge of and support Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, value statements (including antiracism), policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior. Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Qualifications Competencies Proven ability to craft effective communications and outreach strategies. Excellent written and public speaking skills. Strong research, relationship-building, and networking skills. Passion for education and community development. Data‑driven decision making and issue resolution. Knowledge of community organizing and outreach best practices. Experience planning and facilitating meetings, identifying community needs, and working with diverse community leaders and volunteers. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Preferred knowledge of urban school communities. Preferred bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English. Minimum Educational Level Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Non‑Profit Management, Marketing, or a related field. Experience Required 3+ years in a school setting. Experience developing messaging and marketing materials. Preferred experience working with community organizations and local officials. Preferred experience using online networking and web development tools. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, or bend; kneel, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, and pull. Pull or push objects up to 30 pounds to shoulder height. Repetitive hand use (fine manipulation, simple and power grasping). Normal depth perception. Extended periods of sitting, walking, or standing. Dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, office equipment, and telephone. See and read computer screens and printed material with or without vision aids. Hear and understand speech at normal levels, including on telephone without auditory aids. Work Authorization Requirements Clear the Department of Justice background screening. Authorized to work in the United States. Provide health (TB) clearance. Work Environment Office, computer lab, and classroom environments. Indoor and outdoor settings. Exposure to dust, oils, and cleaning chemicals. Potential exposure to childhood and other diseases in a school setting. Possible work outside of typical workdays and office hours to meet deadlines. Compensation Aspire Public Schools offers a competitive base salary benchmarked against local districts and charter schools. Salary range for this position is $70,304 – $98,262.
