Union Social is looking for a Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen team and support the day-to-day operation of a busy restaurant and event venue.

This is a hands-on leadership position. Our Sous Chef will work alongside the team, help run shifts, keep prep and events organized, and make sure our kitchen is set up for success.

• Help lead and run kitchen shifts
• Work alongside the kitchen team during busy service
• Assist with ordering and managing inventory across multiple vendors
• Organize and oversee daily restaurant prep
• Coordinate food prep and execution for parties and scheduled events
• Maintain food quality, portioning, presentation, and consistency
• Lead, coach, and support kitchen employees — correcting when needed and recognizing a job well done
• Help train new and existing kitchen staff
• Communicate clearly with FOH managers, servers, bartenders, food runners, and other team members
• Take an active role at the expo line , keeping communication between the kitchen and FOH clear and service moving
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Help identify problems and find solutions before they affect service
• Communicate staffing, product, equipment, and operational needs to management

• Strong kitchen experience with leadership ability
• Dependable, organized, and able to lead by example
• Comfortable giving direction and holding the team accountable
• Positive leadership style that also recognizes and encourages good work
• Strong communication skills with both BOH and FOH teams
• Able to prioritize restaurant service, prep, and event needs at the same time
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Availability for nights, weekends, and events as needed

Our Sous Chef should be someone the kitchen team can rely on and the FOH team can communicate with. We’re looking for a leader who can work the line, run the shift, develop the team, and help keep the entire operation moving together.
