This entry-level Recruiter role focuses on supporting a busy university hiring team by managing the full recruitment cycle for high-volume hiring needs. You recruit and interview candidates, conduct reference checks, extend offers, and support new hire orientation. You also perform exit interviews and process changes in employee status, ensuring accurate and timely administrative handling of offers, transfers, and other employment actions. You follow established processes and guidelines, work under close supervision, and apply commonly used recruitment concepts and practices to deliver an efficient and positive candidate experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruit candidates for a variety of roles in a high-volume environment, following established hiring processes and guidelines.

• Source candidates using approved tools, platforms, and methods to build strong and diverse talent pipelines.

• Screen and interview candidates to assess qualifications, experience, and fit for open positions.

• Conduct reference checks and verify candidate information in line with company policies and procedures.

• Prepare and process offer letters and related documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to candidates.

• Support new hire onboarding by coordinating and conducting orientation activities as directed.

• Perform exit interviews and document feedback, maintaining confidentiality and accurate records.

• Process changes in employee status, including transfers and other employment actions, with strong attention to detail.

• Maintain and update candidate and employee records in recruitment and HR systems as required.

• Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines, escalating issues or questions to supervisors when needed.

• Collaborate with the university hiring team during peak hiring periods to meet recruitment targets and timelines.

• Provide administrative support to the talent acquisition function, including scheduling, documentation, and reporting.

• Ensure a professional and positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.

Essential Skills

• 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume sourcing or recruiting environment.

• High-volume administrative experience supporting recruitment processes such as offers, transfers, and status changes.

• Ability to recruit, interview, and assess candidates using structured processes and guidelines.

• Experience sourcing candidates through appropriate channels to support talent acquisition needs.

• Strong attention to detail when processing offers, transfers, and employee status changes.

• Ability to conduct reference checks and document findings accurately.

• Capability to perform exit interviews and capture feedback in a clear and confidential manner.

• Comfort working under immediate supervision and following established instructions and guidelines.

• Knowledge of commonly used recruitment concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Effective organizational skills to manage multiple requisitions and administrative tasks in a high-volume environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.

• Experience as a recruiting coordinator or in talent acquisition support roles is beneficial.

• Strong administrative skills, including documentation, record-keeping, and process tracking.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment during peak hiring periods.

• Clear and professional communication skills with candidates and internal stakeholders.

• Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks.

Work Environment

This role is 100% onsite in either Chicago or Seattle, working closely with a university-focused hiring team during peak recruitment periods. You operate in a structured environment with established processes, immediate supervision, and clear guidelines for all recruitment and administrative activities. The setting is fast-paced and high-volume, requiring consistent attention to detail and responsiveness in managing offers, transfers, and other employment actions. You collaborate in an office environment that emphasizes professionalism, accuracy, and teamwork to support ongoing hiring needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
