This role works closely with Darren, the President, and the Head of Operations. The Role As Chief of Staff, you'll serve as Darren's strategic right hand across his work with Primordial Soup and Protozoa. You'll manage priorities, coordinate communications, prepare Darren for meetings, and help ensure information flows seamlessly between Darren, leadership, and external partners. You'll attend key meetings, capture decisions, track follow-up, and provide the context that allows Darren to stay focused on the highest-impact work. You'll also partner closely with the President and Head of Operations on strategic initiatives and help support the operational rhythm of the business. This is a highly visible role requiring exceptional discretion, judgment, communication, and the ability to anticipate needs before they arise. What You'll Do Founder Office Own Darren's professional calendar, priorities, and meeting cadence across Primordial Soup and Protozoa. Work closely with Darren’s personal assistant. Ensure Darren is thoroughly prepared for meetings with the appropriate context, research, briefing materials, and follow-up. Attend key meetings, capture notes, document decisions, and communicate action items to relevant stakeholders. Act as Darren's central hub of information, maintaining visibility across projects, partnerships, productions, and company priorities. Help prioritize inbound opportunities, partnerships, introductions, speaking engagements, and strategic requests. Coordinate communications between Darren, leadership teams, investors, filmmakers, creative partners, and external stakeholders. Anticipate Darren's needs and proactively remove friction from his day. Strategic Partnership Partner closely with the President and Head of Operations on leadership planning and strategic initiatives. Help coordinate recurring leadership meetings, company planning sessions, and offsites. Prepare internal communications, leadership updates, presentations, and meeting materials. Serve as a trusted thought partner who can quickly understand priorities, identify risks, and help move important initiatives forward. What We’re Looking For 4–8 years of experience supporting founders, CEOs, executives, or leadership teams in high-growth startups, technology companies, media organizations, or consulting. MBA or equivalent business experience is a strong plus. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Outstanding written and verbal communication. Strong business judgment, emotional intelligence, and discretion. Comfortable interacting with executives, creatives, investors, engineers, talent, and external partners. Highly proactive with a natural instinct for anticipating needs before they arise. Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building structure within fast-moving organizations. Nice to Have Experience as a Chief of Staff, Executive Business Partner, Strategic Executive Assistant, Founder Associate, or similar role. Background spanning both technology and media, entertainment, or creative industries. Experience supporting finance, operations, HR, or company administration. Familiarity with modern startup tools including Notion, Google Workspace, Slack, Bill.com, Gusto, and project management platforms. Passion for storytelling, filmmaking, AI, and emerging technology.
