Job Description

FTS Staffing is connecting with manufacturing and mechanical engineering professionals throughout the Buffalo and Rochester areas for current and upcoming opportunities with established companies across Western New York.

We are interested in speaking with engineers who enjoy solving technical problems, improving manufacturing processes, working with equipment, and supporting new product or equipment development. Depending on your background and interests, opportunities may involve manufacturing engineering, mechanical design, process improvement, automation, quality engineering, or project engineering.

Potential Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing processes, production efficiency, product quality, and workflow.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, mechanical systems, and production issues.
• Support equipment installations, process changes, automation projects, and new product introduction.
• Develop or update engineering drawings, work instructions, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
• Apply root cause analysis, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods.
• Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, design, suppliers, and project teams.
• Support mechanical design, tooling, fixtures, equipment layouts, and process development.
• Manage engineering projects, coordinate timelines, and implement practical technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field preferred; relevant hands-on experience may also be considered for some opportunities.
• Experience in manufacturing, mechanical design, process engineering, industrial equipment, or a related engineering environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, analyze information, and develop practical solutions.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, quality systems, or continuous improvement.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Additional Experience That May Be Relevant

• AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or other CAD software.
• CNC machining, fabrication, tooling, fixtures, or assembly processes.
• Industrial automation, robotics, PLCs, or equipment integration.
• GD&T, FEA, root cause analysis, Lean, or Six Sigma.
• New product introduction, equipment commissioning, or engineering project management.
• ISO-regulated, medical device, aerospace, automotive, or other manufacturing environments.
