Accounts Receivable

LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for an Accounts Receivable Specialist, for a contract-to-hire opportunity, working in the office, for a company on the Southside of Richmond, Virginia.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys managing receivables, resolving billing issues, and working closely with customers and internal teams.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some overtime as needed.

Compensation: Contract pay is $24-$26 per hour. Permanent salary is up to $60,000, depending on experience.

Software: Strong Excel skills required. Sage experience is a plus, but not required.

Overview: The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing accounts receivable records and transactions, generating invoices, reconciling accounts, assisting with customer collections, and communicating with customers regarding billing questions and payment status.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage and maintain accounts receivable records and transactions.

· Generate invoices, set payment terms, and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments.

· Perform account reconciliations and review accounts receivable aging reports.

· Follow up on past-due accounts and make customer collection calls as needed.

· Review collection reports and evaluate outstanding balances.

· Audit delinquent accounts and ensure appropriate collection efforts have been made before assigning bad debt status.

· Review and approve account adjustments.

· Partner with internal teams on sales orders and billing-related matters.

· Prepare reports and complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Previous accounts receivable, billing, collections, or related accounting experience preferred.

· Advanced Excel skills required.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, mathematical, and deductive reasoning abilities.

· Ability to review reports, identify issues, and follow proper accounting procedures.

· Sage experience and GAAP knowledge are a plus.
