Billing Specialist

Serving the Houston metro area, we are seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to enhance our financial operations. Key Responsibilities: Manage and execute the billing process for Medicare and otherpayers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Monitor the status of billed and unbilled patients, effectively tracking and managing accounts receivable. Perform collection functions, including running aging reports, communicating with insurance companies and patients regarding outstanding balances, and updating management on account statuses. Identify and resolve billing issues, maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance. Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive financial operations and adherence to policies and procedures. Resolve claim denials, rejections, and billing errors. Submit corrected claims and follow up with payers. Maintain accounts and update billing records. Call payers for claim status, denial details, and payment issues. Post payments, adjustments, and approved write-offs. Review remits/EOBs and research payment issues. Verify insurance eligibility and coverage. Minimum Education & Experience Required: Associate’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in medical billing. Preferred experience in home health or hospice billing, with a strong understanding of Medicare billing processes. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
