Step into a rewarding opportunity making a difference for students from Pre-K through 12th grade as a school-based Occupational Therapist—or COTA—covering a district-wide role. This full-time contract position begins ASAP, spanning approximately 12 weeks to cover an FMLA leave, with a strong chance of extension. Please apply only if you are committed to a maternity leave contract, understanding extensions are possible but not guaranteed.
In this essential role, you’ll partner with diverse educational teams to deliver high-quality occupational therapy services across the district. You’ll develop and implement treatment plans, monitor student progress, and bring your expertise to support learners with varied therapeutic needs. If you are a COTA, you’ll work under an OT’s supervision to provide impactful support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Occupational Therapist (OT) license OR active Connecticut COTA license/certification (CT DPH License/Passed NBCOT Exam)
- School-based experience working with Pre-K through 12th grade preferred
- Experience serving students with a range of disabilities
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs across all grade levels
- Collaborate with educators, specialists, and families as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Create, implement, and document progress on individualized treatment plans that support educational goals
- Adhere to professional guidelines, district policies, and timelines for documentation
- If a COTA, provide therapy under OT supervision
