Sr. Accountant

Senior AccountantMarmon is now seeking a Senior Accountant with a service-minded work ethic to support our corporate accounting team. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, provide key financial reporting support, and participate in related projects. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller at the corporate office, this is a highly visible and essential role within the organization.What You'll Do:Assist in leading the monthly corporate financial close processManage a direct reportSupport the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other tasksServe as a liaison between Marmon's groups/business units and corporate accountingAssist with quarterly financial reporting and supplemental schedules for Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.Assist with accounting and financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAPReview structured financial data provided by subsidiaries to ensure accurate financial reportingEnsure compliance with Marmon accounting policies and internal controls; manage the associated policy centerAssist with the accounts payable and expense reimbursement and 1099 preparation processesAd-hoc reporting, analysis, and technical accounting projectsSpecial projects and process automation at the direction of the Assistant ControllerWhat You'll Bring to the Role:BS degree in AccountingCPA required3-5 years of relevant work experience, some public accounting experience requiredSome project and personnel management experience preferredMicrosoft Office including strong Excel skills, comfortable learning new technologySage X3, OneStream and/or Alteryx experience a plusProven knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX, and technical accounting research capabilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyA "roll up your sleeves" attitude and willingness to do the day-to-day workHighly effective communication skills both written and verbalPassion for collaboration, learning, and process improvementsPay Range:80,000.00 - 120,000.00We offer a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, and more!
