Accounts Payable Specialist The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for efficiently performing a broad range of purchasetopay processrelated tasks that involve vendor and subcontractor invoices, company credit cards, expense account charges, and associated controls and payment processing to ensure financials are accurate and current and that vendors are being paid within established time limits. Responsibilities: Receive and assess receiving reports and approved invoices to ensure accuracy of charges and compliance with contractual obligations. Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms. Apply and review the correct project and account coding to invoices and expense accounts follow up with field staff as needed. Process check requests. Respond to all vendor inquiries and work with vendors to resolve past-due invoices. Assist in month-end closing. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices. Prepare check requests or wire transfer requests in accordance with company procedures. Prepare weekly check runs. AP Statement Reconciliation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, An Associate degree in accounting or a certificate in business accounting is preferred. 5+ years prior business experience is preferred (accounts payable or general accounting). Experience in the Construction industry. Thorough understanding of corporate and industry accounts payable practices, processes, standards, etc., and the impact on company activities. Strong Data Entry skills. Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Exceptional time management and planning skills. Ability to organize numerous streams of information. Ability to meet timelines, manage multiple projects, and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
