Patient Accounts Representative

Role Overview This position involves the accurate and timely processing of patient accounts, including reviewing, updating, and ensuring completeness of account information. It requires coordinating with government agencies and third-party payers to maximize reimbursements and resolving billing issues. The role includes follow-up on claim rejections, denials, and outstanding claims while maintaining patient confidentiality. Responsibilities Review and update patient account details for accuracy. Coordinate with payers and agencies for claim status and reimbursement. Act as a liaison to resolve billing and reimbursement issues. Follow up on claim edits, rejections, and outstanding payments. Maintain confidential patient records. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred. Minimum of two years in medical billing, claims follow-up, and customer service. Experience with mainframe computers, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of medical terminology, claim forms, CPT/ICD coding, and payer policies. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Occasional lifting, pushing, reaching; frequent neck flexion, peripheral vision; continuous speech, vision, computer use, decision-making, and manual dexterity.
