Bilingual Engineering Assistant (Mandarin/English)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Bilingual Engineering Assistant to support our engineering project team. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational and communication skills who is interested in gaining hands-on exposure to engineering projects and developing a career in engineering project coordination and project management.

As an Engineering Assistant, you will work closely with experienced engineers and project managers to support the planning, coordination, and execution of projects in a fast-paced engineering and construction environment. You'll assist with project schedules, technical documentation, contractor and vendor communication, and day-to-day project activities.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers and project managers with day-to-day project coordination and administrative activities.
• Coordinate project schedules, action items, deadlines, and follow-ups to keep projects on track.
• Communicate with contractors, suppliers, vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders to support project execution.
• Organize project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and track outstanding action items.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, reports, and project records.
• Review project documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper organization.
• Translate technical documents between Mandarin and English and provide interpretation support during meetings and project discussions.
• Assist with preparing purchase orders, invoices, and other project-related documentation.
• Monitor project progress, maintain tracking records, and assist with status reporting.
• Support data entry, document control, and other project-related administrative tasks.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, project coordination, and overall team efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English (written and verbal).
• Comfortable working in active construction environments and following PPE and site safety requirements.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Education or experience in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Experience supporting engineering, construction, manufacturing, or other technical projects.
• Experience in project coordination, administrative support, operations, or cross-functional team collaboration.
• Experience communicating with contractors, suppliers, vendors, or other external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical documentation, or project management tools is a plus.
