FULL TIME SOUS CHEF

Location Brophy College Prep - 4701 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85012 Note: online applications accepted. Schedule Full time schedule – Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm, with weekends and OT as needed. Compensation Fixed pay rate: $26.00 per hour. Job Summary Assists the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking foods, coordinating the activities of cooks and other food‑service associates, and assuming responsibility for the kitchen and food‑service associates in the absence of the Executive Chef. Responsibilities Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met. Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions as appropriate. Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintaining appropriate serving temperatures. Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; cleans workstations thoroughly before leaving the area and keeps display equipment clean during service. Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner; relays relevant information to supervisor. Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers. Keeps up with peak production and service hours. Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks production, consumption and waste, and notifies supervisor when supplies or product are low. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Previous culinary experience required. Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
