Systems Engineer (Modeling & Simulation) - Intern

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is hiring a full‑time Intern Systems Engineer. The role involves design, development, integration, and testing of new capabilities for DoD products and technologies. Responsibilities include working with models of real‑world weapons, radars, command & control systems; identifying and addressing system and software defects; applying sound systems and software engineering discipline; and decomposing complex problems to develop solutions. Must be a U.S. citizen. A government security clearance (Secret) is required. The position is located at a facility requiring special access and will be performed onsite. Basic Qualifications Pursuing a BS degree in Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent STEM field. Basic knowledge of root cause analysis, problem‑solving skills, and statistical analysis. Basic knowledge in scripting languages such as Python and/or MATLAB. Basic written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative team‑based environment. Desired Skills Basic knowledge of Agile Development Process. Basic knowledge of Static and Dynamic Systems. Basic knowledge of Statistics, Monte Carlo Analysis, and distributed simulation techniques. Basic knowledge of Data Science Principles. Work is performed onsite full‑time at a designated facility. Work schedule: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $44,491–$78,769. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
