NP, Nurse Practitioner/PA, Physician Assistant - Inpatient Gastroenterology/GI

Description Job Summary We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Gastroenterology team in Longview, TX . This role is focused exclusively on inpatient GI coverage , working collaboratively with a gastroenterologist to manage the inpatient GI service. The APP will play a key role in evaluating consults, rounding on patients, and supporting continuity of care in a hospital-based setting. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage initial ER and floor consults for gastroenterology patients
• Perform daily inpatient rounding on GI patients
• Collaborate closely with the gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive inpatient GI coverage
• Assess and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
• Order, interpret, and manage labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary teams
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

Qualifications

• Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
• Previous inpatient, gastroenterology, hospital medicine, or internal medicine experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a hospital-based setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Schedule & Compensation

• Inpatient only
• 7 on / 7 off schedule (Thursday?Wednesday)
• 7:00 AM ? 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
