Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Day/Night or Night rotation based on departmental needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio

Highlights:

• 36-bed Medical/Surgical Oncology unit specializing in continuous cardiac monitoring, chemotherapy administration, and symptom management
• Patient population includes breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as sickle cell crises
• Epic EMR system with strong interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and social services
• Equipment includes GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, bladder scanners, and Stryker beds
• Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
• Comprehensive 72-hour orientation program with ongoing clinical support

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required; oncology experience preferred but not required
• Current and consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role

Essential Clinical Skills:

• Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• IV insertion and maintenance
• Port access and management
• Central line, PICC line, and arterial line management
• Blood product administration and chemotherapy administration
• Chest tube management and assistance with insertion/removal
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
• ABG interpretation and insulin drip titration
• BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care
• PCA pump management

Additional Information:

• Float requirements: May be required to float to other Medical/Surgical Oncology units of equivalent or lower acuity
• One pre-approved time off request permitted during contract
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Parking options available through facility parking services ranging from shuttle-accessible lots to on-site garage access
• Strict compliance timeline: all credentialing must be completed by the Tuesday prior to start date
• Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon contract signing
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away from facility; current employees not eligible
• Local candidates accepted
