Birmingham Public Schools is seeking a Secretary to the Supervisor of the Midvale Early Childhood Center. This is an 11-month, full-time (40 hours per week) position. Qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and promote positive human relations with the community. Effective prioritization of long-term projects and daily responsibilities is required. Excellent attendance record, strong organizational skills, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary. Proficiency in the use of software such as PowerSchool, Frontline, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite is required. The candidate must maintain accurate budget and office records. Capacity to cope with widely varying job assignments, ranging from basic and repetitious to complex. Flexibility and adjustment of daily schedules are a must. The ability to work well under pressure with accuracy and minimum supervision is essential. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality specific to all student/school-related matters is required. Secretarial experience preferred. College or university coursework preferred.
