About the Role:

The Biller plays a critical role in the healthcare and social assistance industry by managing the accurate and timely submission of patient billing information to insurance companies and patients. This position ensures that all billing processes comply with healthcare regulations and organizational policies, minimizing errors and delays in payment. The Biller collaborates closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing discrepancies and answer inquiries. By maintaining detailed records and monitoring accounts receivable, the Biller supports the financial health of the organization. Ultimately, this role contributes to efficient revenue cycle management, enabling the organization to continue delivering quality care and services.

We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full Time, Biller at Digestive Healthcare Associates in Great Neck, NY.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong understanding of insurance claim processes, coding, and healthcare billing regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., Certified Professional Biller or Certified Coding Specialist).
• Experience working with multiple insurance providers including Medicare and Medicaid.
• Proficiency in advanced billing software and data analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies and government programs in compliance with billing guidelines.
• Review patient accounts for completeness and accuracy, including verifying insurance coverage and patient information.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance providers and patients to resolve issues.
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments received, and outstanding balances.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to clarify billing information and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations related to patient billing and confidentiality.
• Generate regular reports on billing status, outstanding accounts, and revenue collection for management review.
