Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR), is a community-centered organization dedicated to providing safe, enriching, and stimulating activities that promote social and emotional growth, as well as materials that foster engaged learning and an inclusive environment for school-age children. We value diversity, lifelong learning, and collaboration as we support children and families through high-quality school-age care programming.

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Director to join our School-Age Care Program team. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with strong leadership and organizational skills who is passionate about creating a positive, enriching environment for children ages 512. You will support the overall operation of the program, assist in supervising staff, and play a key role in developing and leading activities that engage and inspire.

SAC Assistant Director Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor program staff, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for children and staff
• Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum
• Communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, staff, and community partners
• Help manage scheduling, supplies, and administrative tasks as needed
• Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety guidelines, and organizational policies
• Provide leadership and day-to-day support to staff and participants in the absence or support of the Director

SAC Assistant Director Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Have a minimum of 35 college credits
• Experience working in youth development, childcare, education, or a related field
• Minimum of one-year of supervisory experience

Schedule

• Monday-Friday up to 35 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours during the summer.
• Daily schedule will be determined by the Director and subject to change (i.e. split shift) due to program/season and business needs
• Hiring by Date: As soon as possible
