Payroll Administrator

Location: Central San Diego, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (Fully Onsite)
Pay: $28-$30/hour
Length: Contract-To-Hire

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Administrator to join their team in Central San Diego. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees
• Review and audit timesheets, payroll data, deductions, and wage calculations for accuracy
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Maintain employee payroll records and update payroll information as needed
• Handle garnishments, benefits deductions, leave balances, and other payroll-related adjustments
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and year-end processing
• Partner with HR and Accounting teams on employee onboarding, terminations, and payroll updates
• Support additional administrative and accounting functions as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience required
• Experience with full-cycle payroll processing
• Bilingual Spanish highly preferred
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll best practices
• Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
• Hospitality industry experience preferred but not required
