Make a meaningful impact as an ESL Teacher working with students in a supportive school environment near Berwyn, IL! In this contract role, you’ll help shape the academic and social growth of students from diverse backgrounds, providing instruction and encouragement as they develop English language proficiency and meet general curriculum standards.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current teaching certification, with ESL endorsement or equivalent credentials
- Proven experience as a General Education or ESL Teacher in a K-12 setting
- Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and best classroom practices for English Language Learners
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment
- Skilled in adapting and differentiating lessons to serve students at varying English proficiency levels
- Familiarity with assessment tools and progress monitoring methods for ELLs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans designed to support both language development and academic achievement
- Collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and parents to optimize student success and integrate ELLs into the broader school community
- Use creative instructional strategies and educational technology to make learning accessible and enjoyable
- Monitor student progress, assess language proficiency, and adjust instruction as needed
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on innovative teaching strategies for ELLs
- Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate progress with stakeholders
