Shokuya is a New York-based importer of artisanal Japanese foods — shoyu, ponzu, matcha and teas, yuzu products and rice — sourced directly from small regional producers across Japan. We launched in March 2026 and sell through our own site, wholesale and retail accounts, Amazon and Walmart.com. We're growing fast and want Amazon to become a major, well-run channel.

The role

\n

We're hiring a part-time Amazon Store Optimizer to own the health and growth of our Amazon Seller Central account. You'll turn a young catalog of premium specialty products into listings that rank, convert and stay compliant, and run the advertising that drives discovery.

Responsibilities

\n

Listings and catalog

\n

•      Write and optimize titles, bullets, descriptions and backend search terms with keyword research (Helium 10, Jungle Scout or similar)

\n

•      Build A+ Content and the Brand Store with our design and content team

\n

•      Keep the catalog clean: variations, browse nodes, attributes, UPC/GTIN accuracy, suppressed or stranded listings

\n

•      Translate authentic Japanese product details (origin, producer, process) into copy that sells without overclaiming

\n

Advertising

\n

•      Plan and run Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display campaigns within a set budget

\n

•      Manage bids, keywords and negatives weekly; hit ACoS/TACoS targets

\n

•      Align Amazon ad strategy with the Social Media & Content Manager, who oversees Shokuya's overall digital ad mix

\n

Pricing, inventory and account health

\n

•      Monitor pricing, Buy Box, reviews and competitor listings

\n

•      Forecast and plan FBA replenishment (or FBM via our 3PL) to avoid stockouts and storage fees

\n

•      Keep Account Health green: policy, food/grocery category compliance, labeling and expiration-date requirements

\n

•      Handle Seller Support cases, listing appeals and customer-question responses

\n

•      Use Brand Registry tools (Vine, Brand Analytics, Manage Experiments, Subscribe & Save)

\n

Reporting

\n

•      Send a short weekly dashboard: sales, sessions, conversion, ad spend, ACoS/TACoS, inventory cover

\n

•      Recommend monthly priorities and test results to the founder

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

Required

\n

•      Lives and works in the U.S.

\n

•      3+ years managing Amazon Seller Central for a brand (not only reselling)

\n

•      Proven results in listing SEO and Amazon PPC, with examples of before/after metrics

\n

•      Hands-on experience with Brand Registry, A+ Content and Brand Stores

\n

•      Comfortable with FBA inventory planning and Account Health issues

\n

•      Clear, concise written English and reliable weekly reporting

\n

Nice to have

\n

•      Grocery & Gourmet Food category experience, including expiration-dated and imported food rules

\n

•      Experience with premium or specialty food, tea or beverage brands

\n

•      Familiarity with Walmart Marketplace (a possible future scope)

\n

•      Interest in Japanese food and culture; Japanese language a bonus

\n

\n

First 90 days

\n

1.      Days 1–30: Audit the account, every listing and current ads; deliver a prioritized fix list and baseline metrics.

\n

2.      Days 31–60: Relaunch top listings with new copy, images and A+ Content; restructure ad campaigns.

\n

3.      Days 61–90: Run A/B tests, enroll key products in Vine, set the replenishment cadence, and propose next-quarter targets.

\n

How we'll measure success: growth in Amazon revenue and organic ranking, higher conversion rate, ACoS/TACoS at agreed targets, zero preventable stockouts, and a green Account Health rating.

Compensation and how to apply

\n

Compensation: $25-$30 per hour, based on experience, with a performance bonus tied to Amazon growth targets. Product samples included.
