As an Emergency Services Registered Nurse, you will provide critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team at the facility. You must have a current Virginia RN license and experience in emergency nursing. Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills are required. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is recommended. Unit Specific Details Unit Size: 32 beds, 5 recliner chairs (can flex up to 10 hallway beds) Patient Population: Very busy; all ages and medical complaints; daily trauma (located near 3 major highways); includes MVAs, mass casualties, GSWs, stabbings, stroke alerts, and STEMIs; nearby prisons (patients may arrive with guards); behavioral holds (including Alzheimer’s patients); occasional pediatric holds awaiting transfer Equipment/Skills: Alaris pumps, Panda warmers, Hamilton ventilators, Autopulse, GlideScope, AmbuScope, ultrasound, EKG machine, bladder scanner, cast cutter, Philips monitoring, Omnicell Support Staff: 2–5 techs per shift; unit secretary; may include LPN support per RN zone Ratio*: 1:4–5 Ratios are subject to change based on facility needs and are not guaranteed AMN Healthcare offers excellent compensation, discounts, and perks, plus dedicated recruiters and clinical support.
