Position Summary

MUST LIVE WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF CHATSWORTH, CA

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Warehouse Manager with direct knowledge of the low voltage, structured cabling, or telecommunications industry.

This position is responsible for the overall operation, organization, accuracy, and efficiency of the warehouse, including inventory management, receiving, material staging, project material allocation, returns, tools, equipment, vehicles, and coordination with project teams.

This is not simply a warehouse or inventory position. The successful candidate must understand how low voltage projects are estimated, purchased, staged, deployed, installed, and closed out. The Warehouse Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Purchasing, Operations, and field technicians to ensure the correct materials and equipment are available when required.

The ideal candidate understands common low voltage manufacturers, materials, terminology, and part numbers and can quickly identify products used on structured cabling and related technology projects.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

• Manage the daily operation, organization, cleanliness, safety, and security of the warehouse
• Establish and maintain clearly defined locations for inventory, project materials, tools, equipment, returns, and miscellaneous stock
• Maintain a professional warehouse environment using appropriate labeling, shelving, bin locations, and inventory controls
• Develop and enforce warehouse procedures for receiving, stocking, picking, staging, issuing, returning, and transferring materials
• Ensure warehouse space is used efficiently and materials are easily identifiable and accessible
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory counts
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records of materials entering and leaving the warehouse

Low Voltage Material Knowledge

The Warehouse Manager should have working knowledge of materials commonly used in the low voltage industry, including:

• Category 5e, Category 6, Category 6A and specialty copper cabling
• Fiber optic cable and assemblies
• Fiber enclosures, cassettes, adapters, connectors and patch panels
• Copper patch panels, jacks, faceplates and patch cords
• Equipment racks, cabinets and cable management
• J hooks, cable tray and pathway products
• Innerduct, conduit and related pathway materials
• Grounding and bonding components
• Firestop materials
• Velcro, labels and installation consumables
• AV, WiFi, DAS, access control and video surveillance materials
• Low voltage tools, test equipment and installation equipment

The candidate should be comfortable working with manufacturer names, SKUs, part numbers, descriptions, units of measure and substitutions. Experience with manufacturers and distributors commonly used in the low voltage industry is strongly preferred.

Project Material Management

• Review project material requirements with Project Managers and Estimators.
• Understand project Bills of Material and material takeoffs.
• Stage materials by project, phase, floor, area, system, or crew when appropriate.
• Verify staged materials against project requirements before releasing them to the field.
• Coordinate project mobilization to ensure materials, tools, and equipment are ready before technicians arrive on site.
• Track material assigned to individual projects.
• Maintain separation between company stock and project specific materials.
• Coordinate material transfers between the warehouse, job sites, and other locations.
• Process unused project materials returned from job sites.
• Identify excess, damaged, obsolete, or incorrectly ordered material.
• Assist Project Managers with material reconciliation during project closeout.

Receiving and Purchasing Coordination

• Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Identify shortages, damaged materials, incorrect shipments, and backordered items.
• Communicate discrepancies quickly to Purchasing and Project Management.
• Properly label and assign received materials to inventory or specific projects.
• Coordinate with Purchasing regarding material requirements, lead times, substitutions, and urgent project needs.
• Help identify frequently used materials that should be maintained as warehouse stock.

Inventory Control

• Maintain accurate inventory records for warehouse stock.
• Establish minimum and maximum inventory levels for commonly used materials.
• Identify slow moving, obsolete, and excess inventory.
